Receive → React → Explore → Add with Leon Anderson

This workshop invites improvisers to slow down, listen deeply, and let scenes emerge from what is already happening. Instead of rushing to invent, perform, or demonstrate an idea, participants will practice a grounded sequence: Receive → React → Explore → Add. The workshop focuses on listening to the whole offer, including tone, timing, movement, energy, and silence; becoming curious about the wants, feelings, relationships, and implications beneath what is explicitly said; and responding from genuine impact and connection rather than reaching for a theatrical, clever, or “improv-like” reaction. Participants will practice receiving offers fully, recognizing emotional and relational information, letting themselves be genuinely affected by their scene partners, exploring existing information before introducing something new, adding details that deepen the shared world, and staying present during uncertainty without rushing to manufacture a scene.
